LIMERICK’S Locke Bar was the toast of the town at the recent Bar of the Year awards.

Held in Dublin’s Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, the awards celebrate the cream of the crop in the Irish bar and pub scene.

The Locke Bar, based on George’s Quay in the city centre, swooped no less than three awards, including the People’s Choice Award (Overall), the People’s Choice Award (Munster), and a runner-up position in the Tourist Bar of the Year category.

Elsewhere, 1314 at Jerry Flannery’s, of Catherine Street, took home the bronze in the Nightclub of the Year category.
