A BOIL water notice affecting a public water supply in County Clare and parts of Limerick is still in effect.

Following consultation with the Health Service Executive, Uisce Éireann and Clare County Council have issued a Boil Water Notice to protect the health of approximately 950 customers supplied by the O’Brien’s Bridge Public Water Supply.

This follows an issue with disinfection at the plant. The areas affected include O’Brien’s Bridge, Montpellier, Bridgetown and surrounding villages.

All consumers affected by this notice must boil their water before drinking.

Uisce Éireann’s Duane O’Brien acknowledged the impact of this notice on the community and said they are working to resolve the issue and lift the notice as quickly as possible.
