Dromoland Castle GC is host to the Women's Irish Open.

ACTION is under way since Thursday at the KPMG Womenโ€™s Irish Open at Dromoland Castle, with the โ‚ฌ400,000 tournament set to conclude on Sunday.

Headliner Leona Maguire, recently named on the European Solheim Cup team for Septemberโ€™s tussle with the United States in Spain, is joined by LET (Ladies European Tour) players Olivia Mehaffey and Victoria Craig and a seven-strong home amateur contingent comprising Aine Donegan (Woodstock GC, Ennis), Beth Coulter, Emma Fleming, Sara Byrne, Olivia Costello, Kate Lanigan and Aideen Walsh.

โ€œI am very excited to play in this yearโ€™s Irish Open at Dromoland Castle. It would obviously be very special,โ€ Maguire said ofย the possibility of an Irish Open win.

โ€œIโ€™ll try not to put too much pressure on myself. I think itโ€™s nice this year, especially in Dromoland.
