A GROUP of Limerick businesses and community groups met up to discuss ways to strengthen partnerships between companies in the area and the local community.

More than 60 members of local multinationals, small businesses, schools, and community organisations joined together this month to discuss ways to strengthen corporate partnerships and benefit local communities in the first meeting of the Business in the Community Ireland Munster Members’ Network.

Hosted by Northern Trust and Limerick Chamber, the theme of the meeting was achieving impact through community engagement and among topics discussed were ways for businesses to meet and identify community needs and supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Already, 11 companies in Limerick have paired with 11 local DEIS schools to participate in BITCI’s literacy and numeracy initiatives and student mentoring programmes.
