AIL programme dominates local rugby action

A FULL programme of fixtures are listed for the All-Ireland League on Saturday.

In Division 1A , Young Munster go in search of their first points of the campaign, as they lock horns with Limerick neighbours Shannon at Tom Clifford Park.

Young Munster were defeated 29-14 by Lansdowne in Dublin, while Shannon recorded a 27-22 bonus point victory over UCD at Thomond Park.

In 1B, Garryowen are also seeking their first points, as they entertain Old Belvedere, who claimed a losing bonus point from their narrow 20-18 defeat by Naas at Ollie Campbell Park.

In 2A, Old Crescent travel to the Royal County, to take on Navan.

Old Crescent ran out 15-10 winners over MU Barnhall at Takumi Park.

Elsewhere, UL Bohemian go in search of their first points at they welcome Banbridge to the UL arena. UL Bohemian were defeated 39-15 by Nenagh Ormond in North Tipperary, while the Ulster side ran out 26-14 home winners over Cashel.

In 2C, Bruff, following their 32-26 maximum-point victory over Clonmel in South Tipperary, will have their work cut out as they entertain Enniscorthy, who also claimed maximum points from their 28-16 home win over Omagh Academicals.

In the Women’s All Ireland League, UL Bohemian will be looking to make it four wins from four as they entertain Cooke at the UL Arena. The Limerick side claimed maximum points from their 38-3 away win over Suttonians.

Ballincollig, who have climbed up to third, following their maximum-point 24-14 victory over Cooke in Belfast, are at home to Wicklow, who are on zero points.

In the Munster Junior Cup, Champions Richmond begin the defence of their title against Kilfeacle at Richmond Park, and Mallow entertain 2022 champions Newcastle West.

Two former AIL sides go head to head as Thomond welcome Clonakilty to Liam Fitzgerald Park.

In Division 2, Galbally-Mitchelstown lock horns with Tralee at Galbally.

Abbeyfeale, who were relegated last season, are at home to Crosshaven.
