Limerick publicans warned to secure kegs after attempted theft

PUBLICANS across Limerick city and county are warned to make sure that their kegs are securely stored.

This comes after a pub owner in the Pallasgreen area noticed a sound in his yard in the early morning.

When he looked outside, the publican saw a man attempting to steal a keg of beer from his store.

The owner ran outside and attempted to stop the would-be thief, who left the keg and fled in a black Opel Vectra.

Using CCTV, Gardaí were able to get the car’s number plate have since made an arrest.

Gardaí are advising pub owners to make sure kegs are chained together with a strong chain and stored in a room with a good lock.
