Double bass education open to new audience at Limerick School of Music

MUSIC students at Limerick School of Music will now be able to take up the double bass at a younger age thanks to a new addition to the school.

The school recently took delivery of a 1/16 scale Stentor Double Bass, which is much smaller than a typical double bass.

The instrument is believed to be the smallest double bass in Ireland, and will allow younger students to start learning to play the traditionally large bass without worrying about its cumbersome size.

Adam Scheck, music teacher at Limerick School of Music, said that the bass offers “enormous opportunities for double bass education.”
