‘To Be Quiet’ debut LP launch from girlfriend and playing live in Limerick this weekend

ALT-ROCKERS girlfriend will play Pharmacia this Friday October 27 with special guests Belvedere Torse promoted by L.A.S.A. who do sterling work in beginning new music to the city. Girlfriend will release their debut album ‘To Be Quiet’ on Tuesday October 31. 

Girlfriend formed in 2015 as a noisy emo-rock band in North Dublin.

With a number of successful releases under their belt, ‘3am Rituals’, ‘Spitkissing/Small Smile Grow’, Litany of Failures track ‘Laura’; ‘Repent’ – grunge rock earworm released December 2022. 

They also made their return to live music in 2022, they opened for Mannequin Pussy and Divide & Dissolve and sold out headline shows in Dublin’s ‘Workman’s Cellar’, Cork’s ‘An Spalpín Fanách’ and Limerick’s ‘Féile na Gréine’. 

2023 brought the release of single ‘Trust’ and shows with Buí, Squarehead, Just Mustard, CHEWIE along with playing the St.Patrick’s Festival Quarter and MusicTown 2023. Belvedere Torso are described as, “a headless, limbless form thought to be depicting the contemplation of self-destruction. Muscular grooves underpin melodic and rhythmic abstraction.”
