DROMIN/ATHLACCA (DA) were crowned Premier Intermediate Hurling champions following a thrilling 2-20 to 3-16 final win over Blackrock at the Gaelic Grounds.

DA trailed 0-10 to 0-8 at the interval, but goals from Jack Fitzibbon and David Breen helped Ger Hickey’s side into a substantial lead entering the last quarter. The Rockies, however, responded and three-pointers from Colm O’Keeffe, Ruairí O’Shaughnessy, and captain Paudie Leahy appeared to have this humdinger head for extra-time.

At the death, Breen fired over a stunning winner.

In the Intermediate final, Micheál Clancy-coached Granagh/Ballingarry (GB) edged-out neighbours Croagh/Kilfinny, 0-18 to 1-13.

A couple of very late scores from Luke Flynn proved invaluable.

GB had trailed by a point at half-time. It was the club’s first county title in 18 years.
