The headline fixture in the Premier League at the weekend is unquestionably the clash of deadly rivals Fairview Rangers and Pike Rovers at The Fairgreen this evening (Saturday, 7pm).

Supremely talented Shane Duggan, an immense loss as Limerick drew 1-1 at Kerry in the Oscar Traynor Trophy and thus exited the competition, is an injury doubt for the Fairview.

On Sunday, in the Munster Junior Cup, Mungret Regional are at Avenue United (Clare) and Aisling Annacotty travel to St Michael’s in Tipperary.

In the Desmond League, Athea United and Breska Rovers clash in the Premier Division League Cup semi-final at Mick Hanley Park (Askeaton) this Thursday, 7.30pm.

Hurling genius Aaron Gillane, meanwhile, netted again for pace setters Creeves Celtic in their snug 2-0 Premier League home defeat of Athea United. The other goal came from county senior football star James Naughton.
