Four Gardaí taken to hospital following early morning crash in Limerick City

A GARDA vehicle was involved in an early morning collision on one of Limerick’s main thoroughfares this Tuesday morning (December 12).

The incident occurred on O’Connell Street at around 6.15am, and involved what is understood to have been a marked Garda vehicle and another car.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the accident, a Garda spokesperson confirmed to the Limerick Post.

Four members of An Garda Síochána were taken to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It is understood that the Garda patrol vehicle was extensively damaged as a result of the collision.

The road is currently open and no delays have been reported as a result of the collision.
