MONALEEN could see over 120 new homes built if plans before Limerick City and County Council get the go ahead.

Developer Philip Collins has submitted documents to Council planners outlining a large-scale residential development on the Golf Links Road that could provide 122 new houses and apartments.

The retention of an existing house on the site would see the total number of properties on the site stand at 123.

65 houses would be built, varying in their forms, to include detached, semi-detached, and terraces, all being two storeys in height.

59 three-bedroomed houses would be built, with six four-bedroom units.

There would be 57 apartments in seven three-storey blocks, with a mix of one, two, and three-bedroomed units.

The blocks would have 29 one-bedroom apartments, 26 two-bedroom apartments, and two three-bedroom units.

Each apartment would have its own front door, according to plans, which will give “a great sense of security”, according to the planning documents.

A childcare facility with space for 58 children would also form part of the development, while 114 car parking spaces and 311 bicycle parking spaces would also be constructed.

Limerick City and County Council are due to make a decision on the plans by January 20, 2024.
