Host of local soccer fixtures to take place this weekend

Holders Pike Rovers earned local bragging rights with a comprehensive 5-1 home win over neighbours Geraldines in the Premier League at the weekend.

Adrian Lipper, Shane Clarke (2), Dylan Murphy (who also had the winner against Mungret Regional in the Tuohy Cup a few days earlier), and Conor Coughlan all netted for The Hoops.

Pike are at Mungret on Sunday (11am). Elsewhere, Coonagh United host Nenagh, Newport welcome Geraldines, and Carew Park entertain Fairview Rangers. This evening (Saturday, 7pm), Regional United visit Charleville.

Aisling Annacotty are the current league leaders and were – courtesy of goals from Eliah Riordan, Richard Boevi and Fiachra Cotter – 3-1 winners over Newport last Sunday.

It was a contest in which Adam Foley greatly impressed for Aisling.

The meeting of Aisling Annacotty and Pike Rovers in the FAI Youth Cup on Sunday (2pm) is an attractive fixture.
