THE ISPCC has revealed that over 1,000 children reached out to Childline over the three days of the Christmas period up to December 26.

This marked a 20 per cent increase on the number of calls made over the 2022 Christmas period to the 24-hour listening service.

According to the ISPCC, children and young people are contacting Childline to talk about issues including neglect, bereavement, emotional health, and loneliness.

To support Childline and help keep volunteers listening to children and young people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in 2024, visit the Childline Christmas appeal and donate on donate.ispcc.ie.
