Jobs boost for West Limerick as hardware retailer opens new store

WEST Limerick has gotten a jobs boost with the opening of a new store creating 10 new jobs in the area.

Trade retailer Screwfix opened its newest Limerick store in Newcastle West just before Christmas, with the creation of 10 jobs in the area.

David Collins, general manager of the Newcastle West Screwfix store said that it was opened to meet the needs of tradespeople in the area.

“We chose to open a new store in Newcastle West to better meet the needs of the local tradespeople.”

“We are looking forward to welcoming and helping more tradespeople and serious DIYers over the coming months,” Mr Collins said.

Based on the Station Road in Newcastle West, the new store joins 35 other Screwfix stores across Ireland, and becomes the second branch in Limerick, after the store on the Ballysimon Road on the outskirts of the city.

The new store will be environmentally efficient, with air source heat pumps providing heating for the store, entirely generated by electricity.

The new Screwfix store will open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, as well as 7am to 6pm on Saturdays and 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
