LIMERICK will open their Division Three National Football League campaign with a visit from Antrim to Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Sunday (12.30pm).

Jimmy Lee’s side were beaten by Kerry and Tipperary in the pre-season McGrath Cup but this outing will give a clearer indication as to their well-being at the outset of 2024.

Iain Corbett of county champions Newcastle West is Limerick captain for 2024.

Two counties will be promoted.

In Ladies Football, Limerick are fancied to account for Kilkenny in Sunday’s National League tie at Quaid Park, Coolyroe (2pm).

At the weekend, Limerick preserved their unbeaten run with a snug 1-8 to 0-4 win over Derry in Doon. Here Fiona Bradshaw of Oola crashed home the only goal of the hour towards half-time.
