EOIN Hurley of three-in-a-row county champions Newcastle West has been selected at full-forward on the Limerick XV for Saturday’s big-ask National Football League tussle with Down at Pairc Esler, Newry (6pm).

Hurley shone like a beacon for The Magpies in their county final defeat of Adare at the Gaelic Grounds, easily emerging as man-of-the-match following a whopping contribution of 2-4.

The richly talented player will be keen to make an impression on his clubmate and club/county manager Billy Lee this weekend.

Limerick lost their opener at home to Antrim.

Limerick: Aaron O’Sullivan, Tony McCarthy, Seán O’Dea, Brian O’Sullivan; Colm McSweeney, Robbie Childs, Paul Maher; Tommie Childs, Tommy Griffin; Iain Corbett (captain), Emmet Rigter, Cillian Fahy; Barry Coleman, Eoin Hurley, Peter Nash.
