Limerick face a difficult outing against Down in the National Football League at Páirc Esler, Newry on Saturday (6pm).

Last weekend, Limerick fell to a 2-14 to 2-7 home loss against Antrim while Down won 0-18 to 0-13 away to Wicklow.

James Naughton (St Senan’s) is an injury concern for Limerick after picking-up a knock against The Saffrons.

In the Ladies National League, Limerick preserved their unbeaten run with a 1-9 to 0-1 defeat of poor Kilkenny at Quaid Park, Coolyroe.

The only goal came from Karen O’Leary, while Caoimhe McGrath was superb in a contribution of seven points.
