IN LIGHT of the current hospital requirement for blood being six per cent higher than this time last year, the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is calling on the people of Limerick to come out to two open blood donation clinics taking place in the city and county in the coming days.

St Munchins College will be host to a blood drive on Wednesday February 7 from 4.50pm to 8.10pm.

The Caherconlish Community Centre will hold its own blood donation clinic the following day (Thursday February 8) also from 4.50pm to 8.10pm.

The IBTS said new donors are welcome and appointments can be made on 1800 222 111.
