A PRESTIGIOUS Limerick hotel has been awarded two gold medals at the recent Virgin Media Business Gold Medal Awards.

Adare Manor was honoured in two categories, Ireland’s Five Star Resort and Ireland’s Five Star Chef of the Year.

Adare chef Michael Tweedie took home the award for Ireland’s Five Star Chef of the Year.

Recognised as one of the industry’s most rigorous and competitive independent awards programmes, the 34th annual awards honoured the best and brightest in business and hospitality across the country.

This year saw 460 applicants to the programme, with expert industry judges conducting an in-depth assessment process to crown the winners.

Adare Manor General Manager Brendan O’Connor said the awards were testament to the work of all the staff who work there.

“We are delighted to be recognised with both of these awards,” he said.

“The Gold Medal Awards are testament to everyone at Adare Manor who works tirelessly to ensure we always create the ultimate guest experience from the front gate right through to the Michelin star experience in The Oak Room.”

The awards ceremony took place at the end of January at the Galmount Hotel in Galway.
