INDEPENDENT councillor Jerome Scanlan wants to know when low-cost improvement works are expected to take place on the Cloncon Road junction with the R515 in Newcastle West.

Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Scanlan was informed, will carry out safety works on a number of junctions in the Newcastle West district, utilising the general maintenance low-cost safety budget.

The allocation for this budget will be received during February 2024.

The council is aiming to improve as many junctions as possible, the local councillor was told.
