DEM hopeful Moran gets required nomination numbers in 24 hours

John Moran

DIRECTLY elected Mayor (DEM) candidate John Moran confirmed that within 24 hours of launching his mayoral campaign last week that he had the required 60 nominations in the bag.

According to Mr Moran, who is running as an Independent candidate for the role of Limerick’s first DEM, it is clear that the people of Limerick have now spoken and agree with him that a break from the past is needed.

“With this level of support coming so quickly to remove this barrier to being a candidate, I can now say with confidence my name will be on the ballot as the leading independent candidate nominated by the voters of Limerick,” he said.

Mr Moran went on to say that it did not take a national party HQ pushing a candidate or their policies, only civic-minded citizens who share his vision for how Limerick should be governed differently, to garner the nominations.
