Limerick’s Protestant past the subject of upcoming history lecture

LIMERICK’S Protestant roots at the turn of the last century will be the focus of Limerick Historical Society’s next public lecture.

Taking place on Tuesday March 12 at the Methodist Church at 51 O’Connell Street, historical Sean Gannon will deliver a lecture titled ‘Histories of Protestant Limerick 1912-2023’.

Mr Gannon works in the local studies department of the Limerick City and County Library Service and has published writings widely on the Irish revolution and British imperial history.

He has also written several articles for the Old Limerick Journal.

Organisers say all are welcome and admission is free.
