Limerick returns another landslide ‘No’ to Care referendum

IN ANOTHER landslide result, the people of Limerick have voted against the constitutional changes proposed in Friday’s Care referendum.

Declared results from County Limerick showed 22,981 ‘No’ votes winning out over 6,750 ‘Yes’.

Of the 70,551 County Limerick electorate, 30,055 turned out at the polls.

A similar landslide refusal in Limerick City with 24,322 ‘No’ voices sounding louder than the 8,096 voting ‘Yes’.

32,839 voters of the 75,651 electorate in the city turned out.

There were 324 spoiled votes in the county and 421 in the city.

The results at the count centre at Limerick Racecourse in Patrickswell mirror those returned earlier today with the Family referendum also seeing a ‘No’ result.
