Exciting times await Limerick 60m Hurdler Sarah Lavin (Emerald AC) following a new personal best and a magnificent 5th place finish at the World Indoor Championships final in Glasgow.

Her placing at the weekend was a significant improvement on her seventh place at the last edition in Belgrade.

“I know I can win a major medal,” she predicted afterwards in an interview with RTÉ. “I just really want a major medal … I’m getting closer and closer.”

Next-up for Lavin is the European Outdoor Championships in June in Rome, and shortly afterwards the Paris Olympics.
