Limerick student chef savours taste of success with medal at chef of the year competition

TUS student chef Kieran Bolger took home a silver medal from the Knorr Professional Student Chef of the Year Competition.

ONE Limerick student was savouring the taste of success after taking home a silver medal at the 2024 Knorr Professional Student Chef of the Year Competition.

TUS Limerick student Kieran Bolger cooked up a storm at the competition over an intense two-hour cook-off, which saw six student chefs from all over Ireland pick up the pots and pans to prepare a two-course gourmet menu.

With a theme of ‘Modernised comfort food’, Kieran prepared a roast chicken main course dish, with a carrot, white chocolate, and cardamom sponge for desert.

The overall competition winner was Benita Krestschmer from MTU Cork.
