Uisce Éireann working to restore supply to over 2,000 homes after burst main

UISCE Éireann has confirmed it is working “as quickly as possible” to restore water supply for thousands of Limerick homes after a water main burst.

The water outage, according to the utility body, is impacting around 2,000 homes in the Old Cratloe Road area of Meelick today (March 16).

“Following a burst to a large trunk water main this morning, Uisce Éireann is working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to approximately 2000 customers in the Old Crotlowe Road area of Meelick,” a statement from Uisce Éireann read.

Water services engineers are working to complete repairs the burst main, with service expected to resume between 8pm and 9pm this evening.

Uisce Éireann said that “every effort is being made to reduce the impact on homes and businesses”.
