OUTSIDE of the final of the Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake, racegoers were treated to appearances by 2021 and current Aintree Grand National winners, Minella Times and I Am Maximus, at Limerick Greyhound Stadium.

Trained by Willie Mullins, I Am Maximus received a warm welcome from the crowd as hewas paraded in front of a packed stand, as did Minella Times, trained by Henry de Bromhead.

I Am Maximus is owned by sponsors of the Kirby Memorial, Noreen and JP McManus.

He was ridden to victory by Cork’s Paul Townend.

Minella Times was the winner of the 2021 Aintree Grand National for trainer Henry De Bromhead and jockey Rachael Blackmore, who of course became the first female jockey to make the breakthrough.
