MEDICAL staff who were present on the date tragic teenager Aoife Johnston died at University Hospital Limerick are expected to be among 23 witnesses who will give evidence in the Coroners Court in Kilmallock at the inquest into her death, which got underway today (Monday).
The young Shannon woman died of sepsis after 12 hours on a trolley in the emergency department of University Hospital Limerick on December 19, 2022. She was just 16 years old.
A systems analysis review has already been carried out into the tragedy and a further report is now being led by ยญformer chief justice Frank Clarke.
Coroner John McNamara ordered the Limerick Coronerโs Court inquest into her death, which is expected to take four days in Kilmallock Courthouse.
