Further court appearance in connection with €300,000 cannabis raid in Limerick City as fourth man charged

A FOURTH man is to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court today (Sunday) in connection with Friday’s planned Garda raid on a cannabis factory in Limerick City.

Three men already faced charges and appeared before the court yesterday, in connection with the seizure of up to €300,000 worth of cannabis at a residence in the city on Friday (April 26).

€300,000 worth of cannabis and cannabis plants was seized in Friday’s planned Garda operation at a residence on Clare Street in Limerick City, along with €10,000 in cash.

The raid took place shortly before midday on Friday when armed Gardaí using a battering ram assisted drug squad officers in gaining entry to the property.

Four men were arrested at the premises and held under the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act, 1996.

Three men appeared yesterday afternoon before a special sitting of Limerick District Court, with the four to appear before the court this morning.
