Principal announced for new Limerick special school

THE PRINCIPAL for a new special school in Limerick has recently been announced.

Deirdre Bourke has been appointed to lead the new Limerick Community Special School, which will open its doors to 30 students this coming September.

Ms Bourke was previously team manager at the National Council of Special Education, and worked with families and over 400 schools to ensure specialised school supports are available to students with special education needs.

Niamh Cooke has been appointed as deputy principal of Limerick Community Special School.

The school will be run under the patronage of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board.
