THE SOARING cost of fuel is making theft from anywhere it is kept a lucrative labour for thieves. Gardaí say this type of crime is “quite common” at the moment.

A thief siphoned €300 from a blue Volvo truck that was parked at a private residence at Fort East, Charleville, County Cork, last month (April 13) between 9.30pm and 9.50pm.

Gardaí say the thief would have utilised some form of transport to take away the stolen diesel.

Anyone who was around this area last Saturday who might have any information that could be relevant is asked to contact Gardaí at Bruff Garda Station on 061 382 940.
