APRIL Sheehan Corkery has announced that she will contest this Fridayโs general election as an independent candidate.
The County Limerick woman has described her run as being on a โleft anti-establishment platformโ.
She describes herself as being a candidate for those who โdonโt want to back the assorted chocolate box of right wing extremists or attacks on rural Ireland and the working class from the likes of the Greens or Labourโ.
If elected, she says she would โonly take the median wage out of the TD salary โฆ and put the rest into a housing and cooperative enterprise fund for County Limerickโ.
