Iconic running sensation John Kinsella breaks records in New York

Limerickโ€™s John Kinsella became the only person over 40 to complete all six World Marathon Majors under 2 hours 30 minutes.

FOLLOWING his recent New York outing, Limerickโ€™s John Kinsella is now the only person in the world over 40 to have completed all six World Marathon Majors in under a hugely impressive 2 hours 30 minutes.

Along with New York, the other legs of the infamous six were Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, and Chicago.

Kinsellaโ€™s achievement is all the more remarkable given that the Southill athlete only took up the sport inside the last 10 years.

โ€œIt all started from nothing really. A friend asked me to do a 10k run around Mungret, which I did and enjoyed it. It kind of got me into running straight away. From then on, I just started training a good bit and seven weeks later I did the Great Limerick Run,โ€ he said.

โ€œSomeone said at the run that I was capable of a marathon run, and that started the special journey for me of marathon running.โ€
