Under-20 glory for Mungret St. Paul’s

MUNGRET St. Paul’s retained their Premier Under-20 Football Championship title with a snug 2-11 to 0-6 win over Fr. Casey’s (Abbeyfeale) at Seán Finn Park, Rathkeale.

Deservedly ahead 1-6 to 0-4 at the interval, the holders stretched away on the restart to eventually triumph by a comfortable margin.

The goals arrived in either half from Fintan O’Kelly (penalty) and Luke Walsh, who top scored with a tremendous 1-3.

Other notable scores came through the classy centre-forward Diarmuid Hynes.
