A FINANCIAL management company has announced that a Limerick charity is set to get €600,000 in funding raised by the company’s business network.
Mediolanum International Funds and Mediolanum International Life announced that they will donate €600,000 to Coolmine Theraputic Community, which has offices and a residential treatment centre in Limerick.
The funds raised by Mediolanum’s Philanthropy Collective will also be bolstered by a donation by Fondazione Mediolanum, a fundraising arm of an Italian banking group.
Speaking at the event, held at the EPIC Irish Emmigration Museum, Coolmine CEO Pauline McKeown said that inclusivity is at the core of what Coolmine offers.
“Inclusivity, at its core, is about creating a space where every woman, mother, and child feels recognised, valued, and embraced by society. It’s a call to action, urging us to appreciate the diverse experiences that make up womanhood and family life,” Ms McKeown said.
“Coolmine believes that all women and children, irrespective of their backgrounds or circumstances, should feel an integral part of our society. By supporting women and mothers on their recovery journey, we are not only empowering individuals but also breaking intergenerational cycles of trauma and addiction. This work is vital for children, ensuring they have safe, stable foundations to thrive and build brighter futures.”
Furio Pietribiasi, CEO Of Mediolanum International Funds, said that “Mediolanum Irish Operations is deeply grateful for the generosity of Fondazione Mediolanum and the 30 business partners who participated in this year’s initiative — 10 more than last year.
“This support allows us to expand our efforts for Coolmine’s mission and include the Belvedere Youth Club program. However, we know we can do even more,” he concluded.
