
WORKERS in Limerick are among the best paid in all of Ireland, new research has shown.
On average, employees in Limerick are paid a median of โฌ46,011 per year, the second highest in Ireland.
Dublin topped the table with the average yearly income there calculated at โฌ48,343 per year.
The research, published by IrishJobs, shows that Munster has a strong showing in the standings, with Cork coming in third of the highest salaries nationwide, with โฌ45,323.
Limerick’s high wages is buoyed by the county’s thriving manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare, and technology sectors, according to the report.
The research found that the IT industry had the highest average wages across the country, with workers taking home an average mean salary of โฌ69,050.
This was followed by construction (โฌ63,502), finance (โฌ63,165), and engineering (โฌ59,808).
On the other end of the scale, professionals working in cleaning had the lowest average salary with โฌ27,719, followed by catering (โฌ31,322), and security (โฌ33,629).
Internationally, Ireland compared favourably, with employees taking home an average of โฌ46,791, while in the UK, the median salary was ยฃ35,648 (โฌ42,377) and โฌ45,800 in Germany.
Sam Dooley, country director of The Stepstone Group Ireland with responsibility for IrishJobs, said that Ireland’s job market is likely to remain competitive across 2025.
“With unemployment levels forecast to remain low through 2025, employers in Ireland look set to navigate a competitive labour market in the months ahead.
“Against this backdrop, IrishJobsโ analysis of data on the salaries and benefits of job postings in 2024 provides an insight into how employers are adapting their talent offering as they seek to attract and retain high-calibre talent,” Mr Dooley said.
