Downes stars for Kildimo Pallaskenry in All-Ireland win

Kildimo Pallaskenry captain Rodger Ryan holds aloft the All-Ireland Junior B Hurling Championship Cup.

CATHAL Downes crashed home a couple of quality goals as Kildimo Pallaskenry breezed past Cappawhite (Tipperary) in the All-Ireland Junior B Hurling Champioship Final at St Ita’s Park, Raheenagh.

The valuable three-pointers arrived in either half, while Aaron O’Donovan also weighed in heavily with eight points.

Goalkeeper John Chawke was unbeatable in goal.

KP were comfortably 1-7 to 0-4 in front at half-time, before finishing on an impressive 2-13 to 0-10.

Chawke, Downes, O’Donovan, Kevin O’Connell, Mark O’Shea, Conor McMahon, captain Rodger Ryan were all subsequently unveiled on the Team of the Championship.
