THE bravery of Clare’s Dragoons, immortalised by Thomas Davis, and the Jacobite War which ended with the Treaty of Limerick will feature in the upcoming Shannon Archaeological and Historical Society (SAHS) lecture at the Oakwood Hotel, Shannon.
The lecture will take place on Wednesday March 19 at 8pm.
The illustrated talk by Dr Harman Murtagh, a former senior lecturer and visiting fellow at the Technological University of the Shannon, will outline the key role played by Ireland in the major war involving multi-national armies led by generals of European repute from 1689 to 1691.
