CASTLECONNELL is to be the setting for the free Future of Moths and Butterflies in Ireland Conference, a biodiversity event which will bring together a diverse group of speakers, experts, policymakers, amateur enthusiasts, Tidy Towns groups, and individuals to explore and discuss strategies to protect and enhance outcomes for these vital pollinators.
The event takes place on June 5 and 6, starting at 2pm each day. This conference is a key initiative under Limerick City and County Council’s recently adopted Limerick Biodiversity Action Plan 2025-2030.
It offers a unique opportunity for beginners to learn about the significance of butterflies and moths as pollinators and how to monitor them for citizen science projects.
