SINN Féin senator Joanne Collins raised the recent brawl in Newcastle West in the Seanad this week.
Vile videos, Senator Collins explained, were sent to her of fighting on the streets between two different groups last weekend.
“They were absolutely disgusting to watch. People were being kicked in the face while they were on the ground. One person was knocked out, jumped on and punched about 20 times while he was knocked out. This happened on the street parallel to the Garda station,”
Collins said. “The Gardaí in Newcastle West are phenomenal. They work so hard but they cover an area of more than 2,700 sq. km.

Our Gardaí need support and we need extra Gardaí and more patrol cars,” the County Limerick politician insisted.
