Blood donation clinic in Limerick as supply hits less than three days

A BLOOD donation clinic is taking place in the Pallasgreen Community Centre on Monday, June 16.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is appealing for donors, especially for blood groups O negative and B negative, with some currently with less than three days supply.

The IBTS aims to maintain a seven-day supply at all times to ensure hospitals can meet patient needs.

This shortfall means an additional 2,000 donations are needed nationwide over the coming weeks to prevent any impact on vital medical procedures.
