A FILE has gone to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the killing of Josephine ‘Josie’ Ray last year, following the release of a man who had been arrested in Limerick for a second time in relation to the investigation.
Hasan Ali Gori (50s) has protested that he had nothing to do with the death of the 89-year-old. He was released from Garda custody in Limerick City on Friday after he had been re-arrested Thursday in connection with the pensioner’s killing.
“The male in his 50s who was arrested in relation to this investigation on Thursday, 3rd July 2025 was released without charge on Friday afternoon, 4th July 2025. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP),” according to a Garda statement released to the media on Friday. “Investigations are ongoing,” the statement concluded.
It’s understood Josephine Ray was assaulted and strangled. Her body was found in her bed at her home at St Joseph’s Park, Nenagh, on August 4th, 2024.
