590 drivers were fined across Limerick last year for driving in bus lanes unlawfully.

That number is up slightly from 2023, with 545 fines handed out to drivers across the county for driving unlawfully in bus lanes.

This figure puts Limerick significantly ahead of neighbouring Clare and Tipperary, where fewer than 10 fines were handed out for the same offence in both counties combined across last year.

In Galway, just 48 were handed out to drivers across all of 2024, a fraction of the figures recorded in Limerick.
