
A LIMERICK lawyer been promoted to a senior role at a leading Irish business law firm.
Mason Hayes & Curran (MHC) announced David Hickey as their new Of Counsel, a senior advisory position on its healthcare team.
David supports healthcare providers with medical negligence claims, inquests, and inherent jurisdiction applications. Clients rely on his practical and calm guidance when facing challenges, MHC said.
Educated at the Model School and Crescent College Comprehensive SJ in Limerick City, David studied politics and economics at University College Dublin. He later served as Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Registration at the Medical Council and is a member of the Medico-Legal Society of Ireland.
David’s connection to Limerick remains strong, MHC said.
His parents, David and Peggy Hickey, run WJ South, a well-known pub in the city. The Hickey family has managed the business since 1972.
Commenting on his promotion, David said: “My work includes defending clinical claims and guiding clients through coroner’s court inquests, ensuring they feel supported and well prepared.”
