DUBLIN based six-piece ‘Child of Prague’ released debut EP ‘Clothed in The Sun’ on Friday September 19.

Self-described as “an Irish take on Midwest emo” the band pull an eclectic mix of influences into a hopeful 5-track Ep. The album as a reflection “on a period of change during the bands college years in Dublin” uses themes of childhood and adoration to move forward while sitting for a while in the past.

The album includes Amelia Durac on backing vocals and violin, Adam Tracy on electric guitar, Jack McDonnel performing lead vocals and electric guitar, Noah Edwards on bass, Jack Brennan on drums as well as Rachel Baum on backing vocals and saxophone.

The diverse musical backgrounds of each member, paired with their rearing across the world in San Francisco, Dublin, Boston, London and Tipperary, fostered true collaboration between the strong math-rock guitar melodies and “the mellow timbre of the violin and saxophone” in songs like ‘Grey Hairs’.

Child Of Prague performed their enchanting live show in Dolans Kasbah last May, accompanied by Limerick based ‘John Foley, The Prize Band’. John Foley supported Child of Prague on their Irish tour, performing together at Roisin Dubh in May and Whelans in July. They have grown a reputation of unapologetic originality from their exciting heart-felt shows at the Workman’s Club and Vicar Street in Dublin.

Child of Prague, named for the statue of a robed infant Jesus, preceded the album with the release of single ‘Basking Sharks’, a song about “being vulnerable with someone you care about”.

The album released via Faction Records can be purchased here on their Bandcamp or streamed here from their Spotify. A 12”vinyl release of the EP can be ordered via irishmusicmarket.com.
