IT WAS a bad day for a learner driver who was caught speeding at almost 60km/h over the speed limit in Limerick last week.
According to a post on the An Garda Sรญochรกna Limerick Facebook page, local Gardaรญ clocked a black Renault Clio speeding at 159km/h in a 100 zone.
Not only was the driver a learner, they were accompanied by โabsolutely no oneโ and, as regards insurance, there was โnone to be foundโ. โResult? One very short journeyโฆ straight onto a tow truck,โ Gardaรญ said.
A court date for the uninsured learner driver was pending.
Commenters on the post praised Gardaรญ, with one saying โproper order, take them off our roadsโ, while others noted that Gardaรญ โsaved the driverโs lifeโ.
