A NEW initiative celebrating local businesses along the Limerick Greenway has been launched by Limerick City and County Council.
The new business of the month initiative highlights cafés and bike hire spots in hub towns including Rathkeale, Barnagh, Ardagh, and Newcastle West, highlighting some of the must-sees along the Limerick Greenway.
The initiative showcases the businesses across Limerick Greenway’s website and social media channels, as well as offering discounts to customers who congratulate them for being selected.
Tea N’ Tales coffee shop in Abbeyfeale, located just a short stroll from the scenic greenway, was chosen as October’s business of the month.
The coffee shop first opened its doors in 2019 with a range of teas, coffees, treats, and light bites for visitors.
Tea N’ Tales owner Pia Scannell said that “when Limerick Greenway opened, we really noticed the difference. People were coming from all over, and many of them naturally ended up here in Abbeyfeale.”
“It gave us the chance to welcome new faces while still looking after our regulars. That mix has been such a lovely part of our story.”
And the business is going from strength to strength, having opened a second location on Main Street, Abbeyfeale, earlier this year, aptly titled Tea N’ Tales 2.
A spokesperson for Limerick City and County said the new business of the month initiative is “our way of giving back to the people and places that bring the greenway to life — showcasing them across Limerick Greenway’s website and social media channels, and strengthening the community spirit that defines West Limerick.”
The Council said it is “encouraging everyone to visit limerick.ie/greenway to see who’s featured each month and to support local”.
