Mrs. Claus has gone missing — and Christmas is in trouble.
Open Door Productions, in partnership with Dolans Limerick and supported by Limerick City and County Council, invites families to join the festive search for Santa’s beloved Mrs. Claus in Merry Mayhem, a brand-new Christmas adventure at King John’s Castle this December.
Written and directed by Margaret Hough, one of Limerick’s most respected theatre-makers, Merry Mayhem whirls audiences into a magical mix of music, mischief, and mystery. Without Mrs. Claus’s secret cookie recipe, Santa’s Christmas energy boost may be lost forever — and it’s up to the audience to help save the day.
Bringing warmth, wit, and wonder to the role of Mrs. Claus is Roisin Meaney, acclaimed novelist and seasoned Limerick performer. Known for her charm and quick humour, Roisin’s Mrs. Claus leads young audiences on an adventure filled with songs, sparkle, and surprises.
Merry Mayhem is devised especially for children aged four to nine, offering an hour of interactive family fun in the historic surroundings of King John’s Castle. Joining the cast are singer-actors Aoife Hennessy (Twinkle) and Emma Ryan (Sparkle), whose playful performances light up the show.
Performances take place on Sunday, December 7 at 4.30pm and 6pm, and Sunday, December 14 at 4.30pm and 6pm.
“Merry Mayhem captures the magic and mischief of Christmas,” says writer and director Margaret Hough. “Mrs. Claus is the heart of the story — without her, Christmas simply wouldn’t happen.”
