A SLICE OF GAA history was made at the weekend, courtesy of Askeaton’s Mal Keaveney – a well-known voice on air for GAA fans across the Treaty and a regularly appearing name on the pages of the Limerick Post’s sports section.
In his broadcast of the Limerick Senior Football final, won famously by Mungret St Paul’s over Newcastle West in Rathkeale, Mal became the first commentator in local radio across Ireland to have broadcast live on 50 county Senior Finals.
